EMBELLISHMENTS

As a performance artist, I have been exploring different ways to create artifacts of my work. Photographs alone were not substantial enough. After experimentation, I landed on a process in which I print a photograph from documentation onto brocade fabric and embroider on top. I choose photographs of moments that visually capture the connection between the artist and audience. I display the pieces on embroidery stands making them sculptural. This is an ongoing project.

This work has been included in Bearing Witness, a retrospective at MOAH in 2026, and What Remains: Memory, Ritual, Trace, a three-person exhibition at LAVC in 2026.
